Reel Clean/Lube Rates
I currently handle all of the reel repairs. Turnaround: About 1-2 weeks, depending on how many reels and rods are in for service and availability of parts. We only use original manufacturer parts (when available).
Fee Schedule:
· $18.00 for standard spinning/star drag conventional reels. (Additional fees for complications may apply)
· $20.00 for standard large offshore/international/lever drag reels. (Additional fees for complications may apply)
· $25.00 for major overhaul on badly abused reels. (Additional fees for complications may apply)
· PLUS Parts for Reel Repair (if any) -- Variable depending what is required. For some repairs the price of parts is as low as $5-$10, others may be high enough to require an estimate first.
· New part installs (only) - $10.00 plus parts for most reels.
· Repair estimate (only) - $5.00. This fee is waived if repair is authorized.
Rod Repair
Tip replacement - $5.00 including tip (for standard Fuji tips only, some tips(i.e. Roller tips may be more). Replacements can usually be done the same day.
Rod guide repairs and wraps are done by a local repairman. Turnaround time varies seasonally and depends on how many rods are in for repair, about 1-2 weeks.
Rod guide replacement (single wrap) - $14.00 plus price of Fuji guide.
Rod guide replacement (double wraps) - $18.00 plus price of Fuji guide.
Reel seat replacement/repair - $25.00 plus price of parts (typical repair $75)
Reel Filling/Lining
This can be done while you wait, or picked up later. For large offshore/international reels, please plan to drop the reel off and verify availability of the desired line. The price is figured by the yard with no charge for labor (if line is purchased from us). You can ask us for an approximate quote. We can also line reels dropped off for repair.
There is an $8.00 set up charge to rig wire line reels (Dacron, wire, inline swivels, topshot mono) and they must be dropped off for spooling (24hr approximate turn around). This fee is waived for wireline combo (rod & reel) purchases.
All rods and reels are treated as they are our own equipment, so please do not ask us to rush the repairs as the quality of workmanship is important to us.
